Leisurely Tour of Corfu | Small-Group Trip

#smallgrouptours #Corfupanoramic

A small group tour is the best way to admire the beauties of Corfu. Your minibus will drive you up to the best spots, reachable only by a small vehicle, and far from the crowds.

Starting at Paleokastritsa Bay, you will have one hour to enjoy the blue emerald waters of the place that welcomed Ulysses, the Greek hero of the Trojan War. After his shipwreck, princess Nausika hosted him in her father’s palace. The Kolovri Rock, which lies offshore, is said to be Ulysses’ boat, turned to stone by Poseidon. There, you may trace this scenic coast by local boat (optional, not included) and explore some of its magical caves; you can also visit the Christian Orthodox Monastery of the Virgin Mary, founded in 1228, or swim at the beach as well.

Next, drive up to Bella Vista Hill, where you will reach your next stop in Lakones village. The location features spectacular views across the bay and is also known as The Balcony of the Gods. Take time to delight in the breathtaking landscape and a taste of Greek Ouzo or wine accompanied by a snack or meze, included in your reservation.

In the following leg of the tour, you will be able to admire the beauty of the North of the island from a panoramic spot and taste some of the island's most famous sweets and liqueurs produced with kumquat fruit, as well as local honey, candies, olive oil with fresh bread and many others from a small local shop.

The ride continues along the mountain ridge, enjoying the views of the nearby northern islands, before descending into the valley and continuing your route on a scenic drive to the South. You will reach Corfu Old Town where to admire the majesty of ancient Venetian, French and British buildings. Note the city's 14th century Venetian Old Fortress, the Durrell Gardens and the Palace of St. Michael and St. George. Stand in Esplanade Square, one of the largest in Europe, and visit St. Spyridon Church, where the remains of the patron saint of the island are worshiped.

Don’t forget to walk through Liston promenade with its cafes and arcaded terraces that once were the exclusive domain of local aristocrats! Souvenir shops, local handicrafts, and boutiques are also open to the shoppers’ delight.
